Ambition Versus Peace in Meditation
9-19-05
Lessons 34

Ambition is an insidious thing. It seems to creep into what I think of as peace, a sneaky longing to have a good insight. True peace is an un-trying, a floating along and an accepting things anyway that they are. It pervades all of the body with relaxation and creates an atmosphere of black, peaceful warmth, serenity. It is different from the while holding my breath peace (at which point I am in complete mind-still), although that is rather profound too,--for it is finally interrupted by something in the background, namely a feeling of air deprivation, the aggravation of having to breathe.

This whole feeling of peace is like what we feel in really good sleep. We're completely absorbed in things as they are.

Many thanks,
MDP
